An established civil engineering contractor engaged on a variety of major civil engineering and rail regeneration projects currently has an opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineering Site Agent / Construction Manager to join their project team. Following the award of additional projects comprising of the upgrading and refurbishment of major Bridge structures spanning the railway, they are looking to appoint a knowledgeable Site Agent / Construction Manager .

Duties and Responsibilities:

Reporting to the Project Manager , you will be responsible for the effective control and management of a team of comprising Engineers and Foremen, ensuring completion of work to quality, time and budget constraints. You will be accountable for the planning and programming of works and resources, materials purchasing and coordination, establishing Health & Safety and Quality Control systems and ensuring they are adhered to, the Production/Checking of Method Statements, resolving technical issues, close management and direction of sub-contractors, close liaison with Network Rail and their representatives, Li attending progress meetings and the production of progress reports for Senior Management on a weekly / Monthly basis.

Requirements:

Ideally, you will be a minimum of HNC Qualified in Civil Engineering with a proven track record of working on Bridges and associated Structures within a Network Rail environment with a recognised main contractor. You will be adept in the control, coordination and motivation of a project team, have the excellent technical and commercial skills, have gained experience of procurement, planning and resolving technical issues and have the required drive and enthusiasm to see the project through to a successful conclusion. You will also possess excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to forge lasting relationships with the client and their representatives and be able to supervise sub contractors effectively.

You will possess a thorough understanding of Network Rail systems and procedures and appreciate the complexities of Health and Safety aspects within a Rail environment.

Salary and Benefits:

The position attracts an excellent basic salary circa £40,000 - £50,000 (based on your level of experience) together with a generous benefits package to include Car or Car Allowance, Pension, Private Healthcare and 25 days annual holiday.
