We currently seek Systems Engineers to join our client on London Underground projects on a contract basis for 6 months initially, the role is based in Central London. The rates are £350-475/day depending on experience. The projects in question are at various stages of the project lifecycle. Whilst several projects have defined requirements and contractors appointed, there are some that are still in definition phase with scope to influence the design being proposed. The engineering challenge for the programme is to identify solutions within a highly constrained technical, operational and commercial environment, defining and leading the relevant technical resources through to a successful conclusion. You will have experience of Rail or LUL projects. The role will involve the following - 1. Ensure system-wide requirements are sufficiently captured and represented at both project and contract level 2. Lead multi-disciplinary design teams, co-ordinating the input of relevant Discipline Engineers as appropriate 3. Ensure all necessary design reviews take place to ensure that the emerging design is safe, reliable, maintainable, operable and performs as intended - and importantly - integrated with other railway systems and infrastructure 4. Manage the technical assurance deliverables on behalf of the project team ensuring timely review and sign off 5. Manage technical interfaces, through the practical application of Systems Engineering methods. 6. Ensure newly installed assets are validated through appropriate means (modelling, testing, design checks) prior to handover, to demonstrate that the system integrates and works as intended 7. Ensure necessary evidence is in place to satisfy both safety & technical assurance requirements, as per good industry practice, e.g. `Yellow Book` 8. Ensure compliance with applicable standards, specifications and procedures 9. Manage concessions and queries to standards in line with LU governance To apply for this opportunity please contact Andrew Johnson on 020 7419 5800 or apply-351242116-1000365@at.idibu.com, or apply online via the link below.
