Underbridge Structural Engineer (6 Months)
£325 per day

Our client is a well established Nationwide transportation company whose professionalism and well respected name, have been instrumental in their success.
The Role:
This job is about undertaking Structural Assessment of Underbridges’, using a tool specifically developed to fast track the assessment process with the purpose of maintaining the structural integrity of Network Rail’s bridge stock.
You will need:
• Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• At least 3 years post graduate experience in the design or assessment bridges
• A sound knowledge of structures engineering policies and standards
• Knowledge and working understanding of the Network Rail Code of Practice ‘NR/GN/CIV/025 The Structural Assessment of Underbridges’
• Knowledge and working understanding of the design or assessment of metallic bridges
• Experience in undertaking bridge inspections
• Experience in the use of computer modelling for structural analysis
Responsibilities
• Reviewing structural assessment reports (including concrete bridges, arches and footbridges)
• Re-work assessment calculations
• Check in-house calculations for junior engineers
• Provide technical guidance as and when requested
• Propose action plans following report reviews
• Liaise with external consultants to address revisions to assessment documents
• Maintain structures asset data and information within the company systems and processes
• Further potential to provide engineering support and participate in investigations of incidents relating to structures.
• Give external technical standard guidance
• Support and implement the development and application of new assessment tools
• Any other ad-hoc duties as specified by his line manager
