Encouraged by the prospect of more Britons spending vacations in the UK, FGW is trumpeting its seaside specials.
The Summer Saturday service from Bristol to Weymouth started at the beginning of June and continues until 4th September says First Great Western's Julian Crow. ‘We're pleased to be able to run this extra Saturday service to and from Weymouth, which is an endearingly popular resort. We're looking forward to some great weather this summer with lots of people choosing to use our services to enjoy a day out at the seaside.'
The trains are popular with families who just want to head down to the beach for the day. Car parking can be prohibitively expensive and the roads crowded.
