Tube Lines chief executive to join National Express

December 16th 2009

Tube Lines announces today that its Chief Executive, Dean Finch, has accepted an offer by National Express to join them as its Chief Executive.  Dean will stay with Tube Lines until such time that a suitable successor can be found and an appropriate transition period worked through.  He remains committed and focused to leading Tube Lines through the Periodic Review process and to support the delivery of the Jubilee line upgrade towards a successful outcome.

Tube Lines Chairman, David Begg, said:

"It is of course with great regret that we must let someone of Dean's calibre go, but I fully accept that the top role at National Express was too good an opportunity for him to pass up.  During his short time with us at Tube Lines he has demonstrated fantastic leadership and I am pleased that he has agreed to stay with us until a successor can be found and continue to lead the company through a busy  and challenging period.

"As a company we remain focused on continuing the good work we are doing to improve the Jubilee, Northern and Piccadilly lines for the benefit of the travelling public. We have significant technical and management experience inside the company with many of the senior team having been with Tube Lines since the very beginning.  Despite this announcement it is very much business as usual for us."
