TXM Recruit are currently working exclusively with an exciting Train Operating Company based in the Midlands to recruit a Commercial Manager or Commercial Director to lead the company’s commercial strategy.

General Responsibilities

The job holder will be required to:

• To develop, lead and implement all commercial strategies according to company goals and objectives aiming to accelerate growth
• Lead and Direct the Commercial Team
• Seek out, manage and analyse market intelligence information in order to maximise competitive advantage
• Build and maintain excellent relationships with our customers, demonstrating strong interpersonal skills and outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal
• Act to acquire new customers and manage client relationships
• Collaborate with diverse teams (Commercial, Operations, Production etc.)
• Lead and manage the interface with Network Rail, RSSB and other relevant industry bodies
• Assist in setting financial targets and budget development.
• Monitor performance of all commercial activities using key metrics and prepare reports for the board
• Provide detailed revenue forecasts and projected cost analysis as required
• Prepare and present sales pipelines together with regular monthly performance statistics and Key Performance Indicators.

Qualifications and skills

Essential:

• Proven experience in a senior commercial role
• High degree of commercial acumen partnered with a strategic mindset
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills
• Proven experience in managing complex relationships with key clients
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to write detailed reports
• Educated to degree level
• Willingness to travel

Desirable:

• Experience as a commercial director
• Good knowledge of railway markets, operations and geography
• A clean road UK vehicle driving license
