Location: Stockport, UK
Contract: Inside IR35
Start Date: Late July 2024
Duration: Full-time until March 2025; three days per week from April to September 2025
Potential for: Ad-hoc evening/weekend work and extended hours as needed

About the Role:

Morson Talent are recruting for an experienced NEC4 Project Manager to join a civil and sctrucurtal consulatncy based in Stockport. This role offers a unique opportunity to manage three key projects from the initial construction phase through to handover. The projects are set to begin in early July 2024, and you will be responsible for ensuring their successful delivery within the given timeframe and budget.

NEC4 Project Manager will be able to build strong and effective working relationships with the Client Project Manager, SMBC Engineers, Quantity Surveyors, framework contractors, consultant partners, the programme’s Senior Responsible Owner and Head of Capital Delivery to ensure a collaborative approach to scheme delivery. The role will operate in a matrix environment and will include project progress and cost reporting internally and externally, ensuring a consistent and efficient approach to both.

The primary function of the role is to undertake the duties of the NEC4 Project Manager in accordance with the NEC4 Engineering & Construction Contract.

The following attributes / experience are considered essential and/or desirable:

• At least five years’ experience is essential for the NEC PM administering NEC ECC forms of contract in an equivalent role.

• Previously worked on local authority schemes in Greater Manchester.

• Highways, transportation infrastructure projects, including walk/cycle schemes is essential.

• Experience of working across multiple projects (up to five at any one time) simultaneously with construction values ranging from £100k to £5m is desirable.

• Supervision of contractors on site and verification of valuations for completed works.

• Experience in working with site supervisors, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Experience of working on highways and transportation infrastructure projects, including walk/cycle schemes is essential.

• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with local authorities, ensuring projects are delivered to high standards.

• Strong experience in the delivery of cycle infrastructure or active travel schemes, showcasing the ability to manage projects from inception to completion within tight deadlines and budgets.

Relevant NEC contract and/or professional qualifications would be advantageous.

• Driving Licence.

• Appropriate level of CSCS Card or NEBOSH.
